Structure

Death's Omen operates with a clear hierarchy of roles, each with specific responsibilities and permissions. Understanding these roles helps players know who to contact for different needs.

Guest

A temporary login for newcomers who want to look around before creating an account. Guests are restricted to an OOC lounge where they can explore basic commands, view helpfiles, and ask staff questions, but cannot enter the game world or interact in-character.

Player

A participant in the game world. Players interact, roleplay, craft, explore, and shape the story through their characters.

Guide

A volunteer who assists new players, answers questions, helps with basic orientation and mechanics, and can review applications. Guides are not administrators, but serve as the first helpful voice in the community.

Retainer

A former staff member or veteran contributor who is no longer in an active administrative role, but retains limited access and permissions in recognition of their past service. Retainers may advise and assist, but do not run plots or carry out day-to-day staff duties.

Builder

A staff member who creates rooms, regions, objects, crafts, and written assets for the game. Builders focus on expanding the playable world.

Senior Builder

An experienced Builder with expanded tools and permissions. Senior Builders may handle more complex regions, systems integration, major settlement builds, and advanced documentation.

Junior Role-Play Administrator (JRPA)

The entry-level roleplay administrator position. JRPAs assist RPAs with small-scale NPC animations, basic request handling, and minor scene support. They learn narrative procedure, staff tools, and world-consistency standards under supervision. A JRPA is in training to become a full RPA but does not yet run independent plots or make final rulings.

Role-Play Administrator (RPA)

Active staff members who manage the live narrative of the game. RPAs review character applications, handle petitions, run NPC animations, support Player Leaders, move plots forward, and maintain the day-to-day health of the world.

Senior Role-Play Administrator (SRPA)

Senior RPAs who oversee more complex or large-scale story structures, guide less experienced RPAs, and help set direction for ongoing narrative arcs.

Head Role-Play Administrator (HRPA)

The lead RPA. Final authority over roleplay direction, narrative policy, and all RPA-level decisions. The HRPA ensures consistency and continuity across the world's evolving story.

Implementor

The highest authority on the server. Oversees code, world direction, systems architecture, final policy decisions, and overarching vision. The Implementor may intercede in any matter if required for the welfare of the game.

About Me:

Embarking upon my journey as a role player, I first delved into the enchanting realm of Forever's End at the tender age of sixteen, under the guidance of the venerable Caladan, known on Armageddon Mud as Tleilax. Enamored by the allure of Dungeons & Dragons, I immersed myself ceaselessly in the intricacies of the game until its eventual closure, only to witness its phoenix-like resurgence as Forever's End 2. Alas, despite my fervent dedication, the game met an untimely demise, prompting a venture into other realms such as Harshlands, Shadows of Isildur, and Armageddon, where my passion for immersive role-playing thrived.

Following a hiatus, my return in 2012 saw me once again ensnared by the captivating world of Armageddon, rekindling the flames of my enduring ardor for RPI muds. Now, at the age of forty-two, I stand with a wealth of experiences, eager to channel my passion into the creation of a remarkable haven for fellow enthusiasts-a sanctuary where immersive role-playing converges with enjoyment, crafting an enduring legacy for those seeking the thrill of storytelling and camaraderie.
